One crazy Saturday

We have had quite the day...it started out with a trip to the Lindon pool. I absolutely loved it but Aiden was just having nothing to do with the water and was clinging to me sobbing like his life depended on it. What happened to my little fish from last summer!?!? The pool had tons of kiddie areas and we finally found one that we VERY slowly eased Aiden into and he tolerated and even played a bit for about 5 minutes and then was done so we let him play out of the water for a bit and then ended the trip with the big water slide which he loved until he hit the water at the bottom haha. We'll have to keep trying and hopefully he'll like it and if not there's always next summer. After the pool Aiden got some icecream on the way home and we put him down for a nap. Things were pretty calm after that until Aiden woke up and since I felt so bad that he didn't enjoy the pool we went to the park!

i have no idea...

this is where the trouble happened, Aiden was innocently playing with his cars...

and we were enjoying the shade literally a foot away from him on the grass and I look up and a wasp zips by so fast I barely saw it and all of a sudden aiden is screaming :( I rush over and his arm is shaking and he keeps pointing at his hand but I couldn't find a sting anywhere and so while Jeremy held his arm still I finally found it on the side of his arm not on his hand where he was pointing. The mean old thing stung my baby!!! Unprovoked!!

So then I was in panic mom mode because Jeremy is allergic and we didn't know if Aiden was or not so we put him in the car and I kept an eye on him while we rushed home. Thankfully we discovered he is NOT allergic so I put some baking soda paste on his sting to neutralize it and he was good as new :) And now I won't be in a panic everytime I see wasps outside because I know he isn't allergic, although still no fun to be stung! Also after more research I discovered we have paper wasps not yellow jackets and they are the least aggressive which explains why we've never been stung (the one at the park must have been the more aggressive type sheesh!).

"aball aball!"

We also decided it would be silly to spend $100 on a little toddler playset that Aiden would use one summer so we thought we'd try and see if he could do the ladder (supervised of course lol)

that slide is kind of steep...

oops!! Now before you go and call me a bad mom for letting my child tumble to the ground while I took a picture you should know he grumbled for just a second at the bottom because it scared him but then he ran around and climbed up and wanted to do it again! (this time mom showed him if he does it backwards on his stomach he can control how fast he goes) and the picture is obviously horrible because I was making sure he was ok while taking it

And this is what happens while mom goes in to grab something and leaves her camera with dad....

After that we went out to a delicious barbecue dinner and then went to walmart to pick up some plant stakes (to help our poor red flowers that can't stand up with the wind blowing them down) and some wood sealant (to get rid of the paper wasps!! they won't come around if they can't get the thing they came for! we can only hope right?). What a fun filled, slightly traumatizing, busy saturday!
