Couch Pillow Covers

So my awesome cousin Jeana gave me a sewing machine a little while back and I finally put it to work today. I haven't used a nice sewing machine since my mom's, I've just had dinky little $20 ones that can barely be termed sewing machines. So today I looked at my fabric I had bought and the couch that was looking mighty hideous and set to work. My little toddler decided to play quietly upstairs for an hour before drifting off to sleep so I was able to finish them all while he was napping! AMAZING. That never happens...

My poor little pins did not like this fabric, I bent like 20 pins through the whole process

BEFORE

AFTER! So much better!

See how freakishly tall this room is? Once I get a nice 30x40 family pic up there it should be looking really nice

Once the new recliner cover comes it should look something like this. That is hoping it's actually the right color this time...if not I will probably give up and put it in our bedroom and figure out something else to go in that corner. We were going to do a coffee table but I think it would clutter the room so we decided against it. To the left against the stairs we're going to get a long table with drawers. I saw one at IKEA I LOVED, its this grey sand color and it's gorgeous but I don't know if it would look weird to be the only piece of furniture in that color...we'll have to see how it looks when we put it in the room. Anyways hope you all like it but if not don't tell me because I love it lol.

Just a suggestion...I would find a great big mirror to put on that wall...one that has a large frame around it. Costco carries them sometimes. A big fam picture would be good...but I think you will be disappointed at how the wall dwarfs the picture. Just my opinion. Good job on the pillows...see? easy huh?

I was going to do a mirror originally but then I realized I'd have no where for a nice big family picture. I feel like it would be weird not to have one somewhere in the room since it's the first room you walk into when you walk in the house. The stairs make the wall to the left too awkward to fit a big family picture plus we might put the fish tank back over there. The wall to the right I guess I could put one in between the windows but for some reason it just seems awkward to me to put it there. Plus I can't find a big mirror for less than $300 and it would cost me less than $100 to do a big family picture, I could try Costco though. Thanks!
