Next time I'm doing a swap...

So yesterday we went out and decided to take some updated family photos, I decided on American Fork Amphitheater because I wanted a background that wasn't going to be specific (I was only going to use the grounds not the actual amphitheater), was green and had lots of shade. I assumed since it was Sunday there wouldn't be any events going on so no reason for it to be reserved (it costs $450 to reserve I mean seriously who would pay that otherwise) so we get there and another photographer is taking a huge group of extended family's photos. I was seriously so mad. My fault for choosing this location but its closer than the canyons, but next time I will just use the canyons they are less crowded. Determined to make it work we sneak around back and decide to use the surrounding grounds for our photos.

My favorite! (it was almost a crisis because Jeremy didn't like the way he looked but with some swapping of his face we were good to go, it's not noticeable right? Sometimes I just stare at it too long...oh but now you're going to notice because I said it so you're looking for it)

And despite how good that photo looks don't be fooled, it was NOT easy to get. The majority of the photoshoot went more like this...Aiden being mad he can't get down, Jeremy trying to contain him and me about to scream at the $25 remote that I am really debating returning because it worked so crappily

My favorite of us! Well except my retarded arm. Hey before you laugh, would you know how to pose if a photographer wasn't telling you? No, I had to try to imagine what things would look like without being able to see. Also it's out of focus because sometimes the remote would(very poorly as you can see) re-focus my shot. It's an off brand remote it's all they had and it wasn't made for the 7D so they weren't getting along so well...

Aiden is in an [I refuse to acknowledge the camera] stage and of course today was an especially bad day (which is why lifestyle shoots are SO much better for toddlers and why none of our family photos are posed) But somehow I still managed to get a few cute ones

And the winner! Good not great but it is very "him" so I think it'll look cute up on the wall.

Another failed attempt at a photo of us. You try posing on an enormous slant (all we had since we couldn't use the real grounds >(! ) and getting your camera to stay and not fall on the slant and get the angle right with the sun in your face so you can't see your composition AND a toddler banging on the tripod with you worrying the whole time you were about to lose your camera. We tried one more but I just got so sick of running from posing to the camera and still not getting right when I knew if I could just see what I was doing I could get it right in a matter of seconds, so we gave up on getting a photo of the 2 of us. Next time I need an assistant and a gigantic mirror!

My husband tolerating his wife's craziness, isn't he cute?

I finally got to the point where I was about in tears because I know if I could only be in two places at once these pictures would be above and beyond gorgeous, so we let Aiden play. I think I'm just going to have to give in and trust someone else to do them next time,  do a photo swap or something.

I wanted some photos of me in my space (selling space since the studio is not done) so after we got home I tried to get a couple of professional shots for the new website and while I was in the middle of doing it Aiden decided he ALL OF A SUDDEN was insisting on being in the pictures. WHY COULDN"T HE BE LIKE THIS WHEN I WAS TAKING HIS PICTURE! toddlers....

Oh my gosh! Why does one of my eyes open wider than the other I look so weird!!! Lol I should remember to fix that before I put it on the website.
