Ice cream after the doctor's for being such a trooper(no I didn't let him eat all of that lol)
on the wagon, rain kept falling so I was nervous about having my camera out so this one is a phone photo
Lights!
We go every year and despite Aiden's grumpy mood due to the doctor's visit and lack of nap he had fun and really liked it. Back at home and Jeremy snapped some photos of our bedtime routine. I'm not in a lot of pictures so when I am I like to make sure I post them and save them. I read an article about moms always being missing from pictures because they are always the ones taking them. Sadly mine is usually an issue of control freak coming out when it comes to photography. I hate handing the camera to Jeremy knowing the pictures won't be as good as if I took them but that's dumb because any picture is better than no picture. So I'm working on it because I know my kids(still weird to say that with a plural...) will be grateful for them later.
On Saturday from about midnight to 1 or 2 in the afternoon it snowed. Last year we didn't get very much snow and the little we did get only came during the week and melted by the weekend so Jeremy never got to play in the snow with us. It was so fun to get out yesterday and play as a family. Speaking of that adorable husband here he is making the hugest snowman of all time.
Aiden really wanted to help
Then he thought he'd try it on his own
oops.
Ok maybe not the hugest snowman ever but for a girl who grew up without snow and has no snowman making skills it was the hugest snowman I've ever built(I did help some!).
Aiden really wanted to knock it down but it was too big so Jeremy made him his own smaller snowman. He was SO excited to knock it down.
SUCCESS!
It clearly also needed to be wrestled
multiple times
fail.
and some more
Decorating the snowmen (ignore the fact that I am an unshowered mess and this is the only coat that will zip over my ever growing belly)
Our snowman!
Aiden's snoman...chicken?
Aiden wanted to sit on his snowman. It was starting to really come down again so I had to put my camera away. But I still had to get this because it was so cute.
And if you think that was the end of our day, you'd be wrong. Aiden went down for a nap and then we went out to dinner with Blakely and Kensie and hung out for a bit before heading out to Zoo Lights(it's possible on the way out of their house Aiden decided to leap into their snow which was much deeper than ours and in an attempt to rescue his tractors which were buried I may have slipped and landed my back bone right on the corner edge of their sidewalk. I was really regretting the decision to save the tractors instead of waiting and letting my not pregnant and more coordinated husband, who was at the moment cleaning off Aiden, do it. I was appropriately lightly scolded and then forced to hang on to my husband the rest of the night because of my clumsiness...not that he minded...lol)! We thought the snow would mean a smaller crowd but we were sadly mistaken. Guess everyone is just as crazy as me :P
They had glowsticks and light up toys so we got Aiden a little wand thing and I think that may have been his favorite part of the whole trip....
Almost all the animals were tucked away for the winter or sleeping but Aiden did get to see some seals/sea lions perform for him. Despite this face he was SO excited and kept wanting them to come back
The rest of the animals were no shows and I was slightly unimpressed with the lights so I don't think this one will become a yearly thing but Aiden had fun and loved all the moving lights and the few animals he did see (most of which were sleeping).
Right as we finished up the snow decided to defy the weather report(not that that really surprises me) and so we got a bit covered on our way back to the car. Good thing we had just finished anyways!
And thankfully we were prepared and all bundled up so we were fine. The lady with the frozen shrieking newborn? Not so much...some people I tell you!!! Although in her defense the weather report was wrong and she was literally running to her car. I try not to judge!
It was a lot of fun to do something different, unimpressive as it was, and Aiden said he had fun and seemed really excited to talk about it the whole way home so overall a success.
