Christmas Eve was a bit of no fun :( Aiden was sick and so he and mom stayed home while dad went out to meet his family for the mall run. Every year they go to the mall and have a $10 limit to buy gifts for whoever they draw, the person that gets the closest to $10 wins. I was pretty bummed I missed it, it looks like they had fun.
Later that night we decided to build a gingerbread house with Aiden. I have never built one, weird I know but I haven't, but Aiden saw it on TV or something and has been asking for it all month so I gave in and we got a little easy kit. He sure had fun making it though so overall worth it!
This is when he decided it was more fun to eat than make so mom and dad ended up finishing it while he ate all the gummies.
The people who live here have one leg significantly shorter than the other so they walk at a slant. Thus the door.
Since I felt Aiden was a bit young for a formal Christmas Eve tradition with
the story of the birth of Christ I found a thing on pinterest about a
fun Christmas Eve tradition. On Christmas Eve he gets to open a present
with Christmas PJs, hot chocolate (which I forgot about, oops), a
Christmas book and a Christmas movie. I still wanted there to be a fun
way of incorporating Christ so we went with Veggie Tales for the
Christmas movie.
We also let him open the present from his cousins Blake and Kensie
This is actually a picture from Christmas day since we set it up after he'd gone to bed on Christmas Eve but they got him a parking garage for his cars (that is more durable than the one we got him last year that lasted a week so this one should survive him haha). He LOVES it and was so excited about it when he saw it on Christmas that he dragged it into the living room with us and played
He also got to open one of his gifts from Grandma and Grandpa Thompson
It was Geo from team umizoomi (his favorite show at the moment). He loved it so much he insisted on taking it to bed with him that night.
Christmas Pjs!
Watching veggie tales
Ended the night with his new Christmas book with Grandpa and then it was off to bed (with strict warnings to stay in bed and go to sleep so Santa could come!). And yes his finger is in his nose...we're working on it...the constant snot nose during the winter is NOT helping because it irritates him.
