Hotel Entrance

After you walk in at the back there are some gorgeous views of the ocean, I'm so mad I forgot pictures! When you walk in they give you a warm scented towel that we didn't really know what to do with and felt a bit silly. This hotel sure is for pampering...They follow you around and put chairs and towels out for you, they bring you fresh fruit and water, they put cucumbers on your eyes and spritz your face. It's crazy lol.
Our Room

We got in just in time to settle in our room and then head down to the corporate opening ceremony where we had dinner here at sunset
View from dinner
After the dinner we were pooped but we looked around the hotel a bit. Here is the view coming downstairs of the pool and the beach. The rest of these pictures are ones I took just so you don't all think I'm lame and that lazy haha!
And the view from our balcony
Our collection of leis, which we found out at the luau there is a superstition that pregnant women's leis should be cut so the baby doesn't strangle on the umbilical cord. Weird but interesting haha!
DAY 1 - Wednesday. First we headed out to breakfast where we were always seated outside with a gorgeous view of the ocean (with our $60+ breakfasts, good thing it was free haha!).
After breakfast we headed to the beach.
Our hotel from the water
Jeremy braving the water despite his over the top fear of sharks. Seriously don't get me started, maybe I'm the only weird one that isn't afraid of them?
Snorkeling! Ok maybe not he was actually just helping a buddy find his camera that was dropped. See that boat way out there? That's where the snorkeling was. Which is why I heart breakingly was not able to snorkel this trip :(!

We went out to dinner at a Luau, it was the most highly recommended one on Maui although I was kind of unimpressed with it. We are just not into touristy kind of stuff we decided, next time we go we are going to do a snorkel tour and hang out on the beach and eat delicious food and that's about it. I told Jeremy he's just going to have to get into President's Club again ;P.
At the Luau they had local vendors doing different things. Here was the wood carver.
Cracking a coconut. I LOVE fresh coconut.
Digging up the pig
Some before dinner dancing
The shirtless muscly servers were actually the best part of the show, but not because they were shirtless and muscly. They were SO funny and all of them seemed to be married with either a pregnant wife or kids at home so they all kept making jokes about my big pregnant belly and stuff it was funny. Before dinner we rushed over to get some sunset pictures by the photographers at the Luau. Don't mind the fact that I'm wearing contacts. I haven't worn them since high school and so it really weirds me out to see me without glasses.
Then we sat down for a delicious dinner and of course the luau show. I guess I was spoiled by the Tongan luaus in Florida because I waited the whole show for them to dance with the fire sticks and they never did!
This lady's story was weird. She came to Hawaii and fell in love with some guy and then she went to go do...something like establish Hawaii or something...then she sent her sister to retrieve her love who had committed suicide because he missed her? And then she revives him...somehow...only for him to fall for her sister and she's heart broken and then she randomly just forgives them to show the bond of family. It was bizarre.
That's the end of our first day! More to come in later posts!
