Jeremy's friend from work came and picked up the playset and so one night the past week we all went out and helped get it ready for the new sod. Aiden's job was to put the rocks in the wheel barrow. He took his job very seriously
Busted! Caught taking a break. Oh and if you're wondering why my child is wearing snow boots in 70 degree weather it's because ever since all his winter stuff came in the mail the other day he has refused to take them off. His yo gabba gabba vans came and thankfully cured him of that but then he got chalk on them so I am cleaning them and he's gone back to the boots. And yes he does get sweaty nasty feet in them and doesn't seem to care.
There were a lot of rocks
Yelling at them was much easier
Digging in them because...actually I'm not really sure what he was trying to accomplish here
Mom's over there...taking pictures (guess I got busted too so I had to put down the camera and help)
Finally done and taking a break
"keep your arms down daddy"
Jeremy's brother came over on Saturday and helped Jeremy put the sod in. Looks pretty good! The other spot we did mismatched bad like this when we first planted it but you can't even tell now so over time it'll blend and match. The dirt in the back is for a few trees we're going to add for privacy (not that we don't love our neighbors but I just get claustrophobic back there sometimes when like 6 houses can see directly into our backyard haha.) and a bit of a garden just to make it pretty. The sandbox is going in that area and the new much smaller playset is going sideways off to the right. Sadly none of this will get done until next year since winter is coming but I'm excited anyways :)
My sister Tina came to visit from BYU-I so we decided to have some fun and go to the farmland for their halloween activities at Thanksgiving Point. Aiden liked the animals...until he decided they were all scary, yes...including the chickens, so we went back to the games
this was as close as he would go to the BABY goats (yes I said baby goats), and only on Tina's lap
He liked sticking his head through their sign thingies though (what do you call these?)
and of course look anywhere but at mom.
He played monster bowling and throw the eyeball in the bucket, monster ring toss and throw the spiders in the haunted house. He loved it :)
Despite his very serious face here all he could talk about was wanting to go on the wagon ride and he loved it.
It was a lot of fun! After the farm it was time for a nap for Aiden and for Tina to head on out to my sister's and Aiden wanted to make sure to guilt trip her as much as possible! For a good 10 minutes he sobbed hysterically and kept saying "I'm so sad, I want a hug, I want a kiss, I want a squeeze. Tina I'm going to miss you so much", it was quite sad but a bit funny and to save Tina I jumped in and pried him off and attempted to explain she needed to go but that she'd be back another time. He was very sad. He asked for days where Tina went. I guess she'll have to come back again soon ;P. He had a lot of fun though and we're glad she was able to visit :)
