Aiden loved riding on the bus (I've hiked Zion's before and I have to say the bus is way better ;P)
Aiden showed his sickness not by being a deaf zombie like I was (seriously I can't hear anything it's awful) but by being SUPER grumpy which I tried to calm with cookies
Luckily when his grumpiness reached it's peak we reached the river and it had a little island that Aiden got to play with sticks and rocks. Any little boy's dream. So that cheered him up.
Then Papa decided to throw big rocks and splash Aiden which resulted in Aiden scolding his Grandpa haha...
Then he went back to playing with rocks
We stopped for lunch which revived mom a bit after all the walking(it really wasn't that much I was just seriously that sick haha) and then headed out for some more sight seeing. It seemed to have revived Aiden as well (despite the fact that all he had was a smoothie) and he was running around and "rawr"ing at papa trying to scare him. "I'm a scary dinosaur"
Aiden was excited to find more rocks and more water to throw them in
It was at this point that my body decided to tell me I had over exerted myself and I got dizzy, nauseous and exhausted so I sat down attempting to recover for a while. Then we got back on the bus to head back to the entrance. Apparently Aiden's body decided to tell Aiden the same thing it told me because he crawled under the seat and fell asleep haha...
We went out for some ice cream on the way out (Aiden did not like my mint ice cream so he got a sucker instead) and then had to say goodbye to everyone. I was pretty miserable that day but at least I was spending time with family rather than being miserable at home. I'm glad we were able to go and only wish we hadn't been so sick. Such is life! As soon as we got back in the car Aiden was back out and stayed that way the whole way home.
Luckily I got an excellent night's sleep last night (yay for sleeping pills and a humidifier, why didn't I bring them on the trip!?) and am feeling slightly, if only slightly better today so hopefully we will conquer this cold soon.
