Kaitlyn's 1st Birthday

I can't believe my baby is 1. A lot has happened in the past year so it has just flown by. We have loved every minute watching our sweet girl grow up. She is in the 50th% for height and weighs 18 lbs 9 oz. She has 3 teeth with 5 coming in at the same time (poor baby!) so will soon be up to 8. She LOVES to eat, and if we are eating without her she will come rushing over whining until we share our food. She eats EVERYTHING and lots of it haha. She can stand alone but usually only does so for a few seconds and then sits down. She walks along furniture and with her walker (I know not the best for her but she just does it occasionally for play so I am not worried about it). She loves to snuggle and if there is a blanket or stuffed animal in sight she snuggles her face into them. She gives her stuffed animals big hugs and kisses(seriously way more than she gives me haha). She can say quite a few words but never on demand lol. Off the top of my head I know she says "hi" "bye" "bottle" "mama" "dada" "daddy" "aiden" "turtle"(this one is new because we got her a turtle from Hawaii), nemo which actually comes out "meme","up". I think that is it, I can't think of any others. She loves to babble and chat and is convinced she's having a conversation with you. She does this little chuckle at everything, just all day long it's so funny. She ADORES her brother, as always. She follows him everywhere and always has to know what he is doing. She is our happy little girl and we love her to pieces!

Kaitlyn woke up a happy birthday girl!

We got her this kitchen and Frozen for her birthday but to reduce chaos at the party we let her play with the kitchen as soon as she woke up. I LOVE her reaction to it, so adorable!! As you can tell Aiden had a bit of a hard time with the first party that was not for him.

I thought it would be cute to hand make everything instead of using store bought decorations and treats. What was I thinking? I got the wrong kind of frosting for her cake so the ruffles drooped a little but I think it was still pretty cute. And my sweet girl even got a home baked cake instead of a box one haha.

Chocolate cake balls with white chocolate frosting. A few people asked me how to make these and I don't know where the tutorial is - so I just made a normal cake recipe in a 9x13 pan (if you aren't a baker you can use a box), after it cools crumble with a fork in a bowl and add 3/4+ c of frosting, roll into balls and put on a 9x13 pan and freeze for 30 minutes. Remove and dip into melting chocolate and poke with a stick and done!

Oreo truffles - chop up a pkg of oreos in a food processor, mix with 8 oz cream cheese, roll into balls and freeze and dip in melting chocolate same as above. THESE ARE TO DIE FOR DELICIOUS. Just in case you were wondering.

I also made her no sew tutu. I was supposed to sew it but I was lazy so I just tied it in the back haha. I used sparkle tulle which as you can see is gorgeous but warning the glitter is just sprinkled on and it will continuously flake off all over EVERYTHING until there is no more...except it's neverending...

She got lots of great gifts from all our family who came to the party. Unfortunately I was so stressed and distracted I didn't ask anyone to take pictures and my video camera malfunctioned but she loved all of it! She snuggled all her stuffed animals and gave them hugs and kisses, she wasn't too interested in ripping the wrapping paper but did it once. She has been loving reading all her books and looks so cute in her new pjs. Thank you so much to everyone who came and made this day special for us.

Jeremy took some photos of her princess castle. It was a hit! :)

Time for cake! She was SO funny about just leaning in and taking a bite. Funniest girl!!

Mess face!

Finally has it all to herself haha

Snuggles with mommy after the party watching Frozen

It all turned out so cute and she seemed to really get into it all and have a fun day so I am a happy mama!

A look at Kaitlyn's 1st year! Sorry it's short and there's no music or special effects, I was too lazy to make a nice one
