Washington Vacation part 2 - The Joneses

After the fun few days with my parents we packed up our stuff, got all ready to go (did I forget to mention Aiden hadn't been eating and had a bit of a fever over the past few days) and Aiden keeps saying he needs to burp so I took him to the bathroom worried he really meant he needed to throw up, bend him over the toilet and he tries but can't so he flips around all of a sudden and just pukes all down my front and back before I had time to react. It was unpleasant. So I cleaned him up and had Jeremy take care of him while I ran upstairs to completely change and wash up a bit. Not what you want to happen as you're heading out the door. We made it out the door in one piece somehow and got down to Jeremy's parents' house. We decided after visiting for a bit to head out to Northwest Trek. It is all animals that are native to the northwest and you get to ride a bus (which for Aiden's sake we called a train haha) through the animal environment. It was a lot of fun (even though I was super disappointed I didn't get to see a "Moook" (moose)).

This goat is my kindred spirit. Out of laziness she(?) crawls around on her front hooves while eating because she's too lazy to get up and down. Lazy animals make me feel more justified in my laziness.

Another lazy soul. It was too much effort to look at us.

See the baby on the ground? So cute!

Baby Deer

Aiden loved the animals but not so much the waiting in between to see another one

It was a hot day so they went for a swim (elk)

caribou, couldn't get over their fuzzy antlers

After the tram ride we went over to the regular zoo area to see the "meat eaters." One time a cougar broke into the tram area and was lost for 4 months and killed 10 animals. They are better off in the caged areas lol. Here are some black bears.

grizzly, it was so close it was neat! He seemed a bit agitated though as he kept pacing

Thursday was spent setting up for Ashley's wedding. I wish I had taken some photos of the reception on Thursday because once we got there Friday there were so many people in there all I would have gotten pictures of was heads and the photo-perfectionist in me was having a panic attack about it lol. After setting up we ran out for a yummy dinner and Aiden was having fun choke holding Grandpa, even when Grandpa struck back.

The wedding was beautiful and they all looked so happy and Ashley of course was gorgeous. So glad we were able to go. Aiden was loving the muffins (which he snuck off frequently for. Who put those at toddler level!?).

I did take Ashley's engagements though and they turned out great so I do have these haha! Such a cute couple!

On Saturday we decided to take a bit of slower day since Aiden seemed a bit overwhelmed. We went to the beach in Federal Way to let Aiden play for a bit.

Collecting shells

Poor kid was deteriorating fast but a hug from dad always helps.

All of a sudden he started finding coins, "treasures", under rocks. It became his favorite game.

Their grumpiness pairs nicely. Lol.

Aha! The coin hiding culprit is found!

Aiden figured out that the coins were mysteriously by Papa but never quite caught on that papa was hiding them. I also helped him discover pockets. I hope I don't regret that decision but I didn't want dirty sand coins in my purse or pockets.

The tide kept coming in which stressed Aiden out quite a bit, so much so that he had to go save his daddy "come on daddy, run run!"

Swinging with Mim and Kels

After the beach we went out for a delicious dinner at Ruth's and then headed out for some mini golf. It was the first time we'd ever taken Aiden and he LOVED it.

Placing the ball in the hole was much easier.

"the hole is over there"

So cute! He loved hitting the first hit but then he'd go pick it up and drop it in the hole. I gave up after hole 4 because I kept hitting it in the parking lot. Yes. I am THAT bad at mini golf. It was embarrassing. And I was saving my husband from having to jump the fence again.

Eyes closed is good too.

This hole was his favorite because he would chuck it through the tunnel and then chase it down. He did over. and over. and over again.

And placing it in the hole again. He was a pro.

Oh and he threw up again in the middle of the night one of the night's at his parents. I was saved by Mim who took care of it all while I slept since he was sleeping in their room. We found out the culprit was teething (which my mom had suggested multiple times but I didn't think that's what it was because I had never heard of 2 year old molars. Worst mother award :( ). It was a really fun (although very busy!) trip and we are so glad we got to see everyone and attend Ashley's wedding. Miss you all already!

I love the coins in the sand, that was so cute! What a good Grandpa. :) I can't believe how big Aiden is, he's looking so grown-up now!
