House update

We got the keys on Wednesday in the afternoon and immediately started painting and after about 100 trips to Lowe's, staying up until 2-3am for 3 days straight and lots of sore muscles we finally got it all done. It all looks great!! I had a little bit of a breakdown over the purple wall for a bit because it wasn't the color I wanted, I wanted a more grey purple but all they had was so grey you couldn't see the purple or so purple you couldn't see the grey and I didn't want a dark grey wall so I had them try to custom make it for me and at night with the sample it looked great but now that  its done it's more purple than I wanted. It's not so bad it's worth the work to fix it (its a really tall wall and took FOREVER to do and was a HUGE pain) and I think once I decorate it'll tone it down a lot (sorry I don't have pictures yet I've been too exhausted). While the boys did the downstairs and that monster purple wall I worked on our master including the ceiling. It was a pain but it looks gorgeous!

Saturday we moved in and the new furniture was delivered but it had a dent in it, so I had to call them today and they are going to exchange it out for me on Wednesday, not a huge deal since they are exchanging it but still a little frustrating. Sunday I spent all day cleaning and unpacking because when we did the walkthrough it all looked clean but after getting in there was stuff spilled in all the cupboards and splattered food in the pantry. Looks like for the past month they just figured they were moving out so why bother cleaning. Annoying but again not a huge deal.

Then today I go out to get some shopping done, I got the curtains for the living room (which I LOVE, pictures tomorrow) but the bed bath and beyond in American Fork carried every single bedding set EXCEPT the one I wanted (which we should have just gotten when we saw it at the one in Orem), every single color of chair cushions EXCEPT the one I wanted and barely any colors of rugs and again not the one I wanted so I was extremely disappointed. Then I get to Walmart and I forgot to measure the sliding glass window but they only carried one size in that type of blinds so I figured it would fit and I get home take it out and of course it doesn't fit so now I have to hope that Walmart will let me return it even though I opened it. We also went to Lowe's for the millionth time and they didn't have door handles that matched ours, they were either flatter (ours our round) or they were a different colored silver and the color bothered me more so I ended up getting some in a different shape. Luckily the two needing replaced don't really matter if they match, the garage door is a locking door so it was different anyways so its ok, the other is the pantry and there's no other doors in the room so its ok that its a little different too. We had to replace the deadbolt on the front door (cheaper than hiring someone to change the locks) and the one we got didn't fit with the pretty designed deadbolt casing they had before so we have to have just a plain round one now which I was bummed about and I cut my hands up trying to get all the pieces to work. Then I had issues putting up the living room curtains. Then I was organizing the refridgerator because they left a bunch of junk in it and  apparently one of the shelves wasn't secured and all our milk fell out of the fridge (at this point I was on the verge of tears) and then I slammed my finger in the cupboard. I finally just gave up and sat down and that is how I am here typing this out haha...

My husband spent the day running around with me from store to store and mowing the lawn which was so overgrown (obviously hadn't been touched in that last month either) that we filled up our garbage bins with clumps of grass just from the front yard so Jeremy is going to do that backyard another day.

Oh. and there's birds living in our vents. Yep.

my poor baby has had a fever for two days and hasn't been feeling well so I couldn't help but capture this sweet moment today while he hung out on the ottoman

Welcome to being a home owner. Nice some times, but most of the time it's just a pain and expensive

Lol, I'm hoping I will feel better when we're all settled and it's more finished and I don't feel like my life is so turned upside down on top of the little catastrophies that keep coming up.
